What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. A website can also keep small amounts of information in your browser's local storage or session storage. This policy covers all three. Some of them are strictly necessary for the site to work, so they do not need your consent. The others are optional, and we only use them if you agree.

Name: exelsys-analytics-consent, kept in local storage. Provider: Exelsys. Remembers whether you clicked Accept or Reject, and when, so we do not ask on every page. We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if you clear your browser data.

Page position

Name: tsr-scroll-restoration-v1_3, kept in session storage. Provider: Exelsys. Remembers how far down a page you were, so the Back button returns you to the same place. Cleared when you close the tab.

Careers portal

Name: ARRAffinitySameSite. Provider: recruit.exelsyslive.com, the Exelsys careers portal shown on our Careers page. Keeps your visit on the same server while you look at vacancies. Deleted when you close your browser.

Staff sign-in

Name: exelsys_admin. Provider: Exelsys. Used only in the website's staff area, to keep Exelsys staff signed in while they manage the website. Lasts up to 8 hours.

Visitor ID

Name: _ga. Provider: Google Analytics. Set only after you click Accept. Tells one browser from another so we can count visits. Lasts up to 2 years.

Name: _ga_CFTH6270BB. Provider: Google Analytics. Set only after you click Accept. Keeps track of your current visit. Lasts up to 2 years.

How we use Google Analytics

If you click Accept, Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, how they found us (for example through a search engine or a link), what kind of device and browser they use, their approximate location, and whether a visit ended with a contact enquiry, demo request, partner application or event booking. We have switched off Google's advertising features and Google signals, so this information is not used to personalise ads. Analytics never runs in the staff area or on the private page for managing an event booking. Google may process this information outside the UK, including in the United States. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Other services

Third-party services on some pages

reCAPTCHA

Careers page only. The careers portal on that page uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect job applications from automated abuse. It loads with the page and may collect details about your device and browser, and set Google cookies, under Google's privacy policy.

Google Maps

Contact page only. The map loads only if you click Load map. Google then receives technical details such as your IP address and browser type, and may set its own cookies.

Changing your choice

Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. If you switch analytics off, Google Analytics stops straight away and its cookies are deleted from your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site, such as the careers portal, may not work properly.

Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever the cookies we use change, and change the date at the bottom.
